$500 Billion In Federal Contracts

$500 Billion In Federal Contracts

Dear Entrepreneurs and Business Managers:

The United States government is the largest procurer of goods and services in the world.  Government procurement in the United States is the process by which the federal government acquires goods and services, and real property.  In the fiscal year 2017 alone, the federal government procured over 507 billion dollars through contracts with businesses.   Top federal government contracting agencies include the Departments of Defense, Energy, Veterans Affairs, Health and Human Services, and Homeland Security.

There are several databases you can use to find federal contracts to bid on. One of those websites is FedBizOpps.gov.  Government agencies are required to use FedBizOpps.gov to advertise all contracts over $25,000.  For assistance, note that the U.S. Small Business Administration (sba.gov) offers programs that can assist small and emerging businesses in doing business with the federal government. The agency offers programs and seminars that help businesses to identify federal contracts, market products, and services to the federal government, and bid on federal contracts.

Federal government spending has a tremendous impact on this nation’s gross domestic product.  If your business is so inclined, it can do well by tapping into the always vibrant federal government contract spending market.  Use the links found in the Green Business Report and other links to avail yourself of the opportunity to do business with the world’s largest procurement agency – your federal government.
